How do we as designers take massive amounts of data and contextualize this in the built environment? Museum exhibit design, will become more individualized and personal (with the development of apps on androids and ipads), but it’s important to create a collaborative interactive environment for groups to communicate. Creating a rich experience with digital media is tough when you don’t want to take away the relationship one has with art. If we’re feeding people massive amounts of information on these devices (or even if it’s vinyl on the wall) they’re less likely to come up with their own conclusions and opinions. So… interactive platforms need to be created for the act of play, creation, and feedback for the museum world to move forward.
